Technology solutions for the localization business, Terminology Management and Sales incentives for freelancers, LSPs and corporates

The year of 2009 has been highlighted by global economic uncertainties and shiftiness, combined with global corporate transitions and mergers. Dynamic as it is, the market of today becomes more and more demanding and highly specific when it comes to resources, technologies , quality management and sales tools. litical and economic transformation in all of Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic states. Therefore the PTD 2009 conference, organised in Sofia, Bulgaria by Iventica Ltd. for the 3rd year now will focus particularly on sales, managing quality, terminology and integrating specific technologies in the translation and localization process.

The programme for PTD 2009 will encompass many different topics from the world of translation and localization services from different perspectives – freelancer, management, sales. Conference highlights include:

  • Quality management and integration of EN 15038:2006;
  • Pre-Conference day events on Thursday (12th of November) include 2 Special technology Workshops. One of them will be hosted by Doug Lawrence of Amicus TransTec and will focus on Selling Translations. The second one will deal with SDL Trados technologies from the point of view of the Project Manager.
  • A special presentation of the recently found Bulgarian affiliate of the international cultural association SIETAR;
  • A presentation of ELIA (European Language Industry Association) by Mrs. Marianna Hill – for the first time in her capacity of an ELIA board member;
  • The new version of SDL Trados – SDL TRADOS 2009 in the light of SP1;
  • An international workshop involving translators from Romania, Macedonia, Albania and Bulgaria gathered to share experience regarding sales, marketing and promotion of their services, pricing, how they deal with customers, etc. This is the first time such a workshop has been organised in Bulgaria!

PTD 2009 is a technology and localisation event focused on managerial and translation issues, adding to efficiency of different process in any translation department, improving skills and meeting business challenges of the global markets.
